## May 2022 MicroCart Team ## MicroCART History
MicroCART (Microproccessor controlled aerial robotics team) has been around since the early 2000's. In the past, the MicroCART worked on developing their own large-scale drones from the ground up. Several of the previous prototypes can be seen in the Coover 3050 lab.
This is the overview for the MicroCart Team sdmay22-43. ## 2021 - 2022 MicroCart Team
Our task this year was to use the Crazyflie quadcopters to develop a lab for CPRE 488 students. The Crazyflie is much better suited to a lab environment due to the lower risk and reduced complexity for students.
To give some context to our project as the MicroCart team has been around for a while. In the past, the class cpre488 used big drones (which you have probably seen in the lab) for their final lab where they write the PID control algorithm for the drones and then tune the PID constants. These bigger drones are big, scary, and dangerous. Thus our task was to recreate our own version of the lab with a much smaller drone the Crazflie. Additionally, we were tasked with developing an impressive demonstration to show off the capabilities of the Crazyflie and the abilities of ISU CPRE students.
