Create "Getting Started" guide(s)

Documentation should be written so that a person with minimal experience and understanding of the project can get up to speed as fast as possible. To that end, a "Getting Started" guide for each area of the project should be created to explain what currently exists, how it works, and what files/code segments are relevant.
